Many of the unique printing needs in the
sign business can only be accomplished
by large format printers. There are
several impressive machines currently on
the market that can fit your needs. The
following are some basic issues related
to oversize printing.
Less expensive printers are inclined to
provide decent pictures, however often
without the desired clarity. For some
applications, this is a fair trade,
however, in certain pictures this
clarity is considerably noticeable
especially those containing people,
where detail is significant.
As you increase the size of the picture,
the flaws become more noticeable.
Therefore, it is strongly suggested to
purchase a mid range to high-end machine
for all applications. When handling
bigger pictures, for the quality your
customers demand, quality in your large
format printer counts.
Because pictures are created by bits of
information or pixels, you need a
printer that can represent the most
detail possible. This is critical when
the original picture is an enlargement
of a smaller picture. The process of
enlarging the picture often reduces the
resolution. A lower quality printer can
and often does compound this problem,
creating a blurry picture.
