The GBC laminator is available in
several different versions. With
versions used for schools, homes, and of
course for commercial use. The smaller
version generally can be purchased for
under $50, and it's primarily function
is for laminating small items such as
business and I.D. cards. Which GBC
laminator you purchase will depend on
how it will primarily be used.
All laminators generally work in the
same way, a heating element that is
built into the device heats up to a
certain temperature, and a light will
then indicate that you can now insert
the object to be laminated into the
machine.
Most laminators will have an automatic
feed mechanism is automated. This
reduces waste because once the item has
been inserted the machine will do the
rest. Some of the low-end laminators
unfortunately do not having entirely
accurate heat gauges that cause waste.
With the GBC laminators, this has not
been a problem.
A warning to all of you who are curious
as I am, it is extremely easy to
accidentally? or purposely touch
something that is very hot. You will not
lose your finger, or even seriously be
injured, however the experience will be
unpleasant and can readily be avoided by
simply keeping all fingers and hands
away. One of these days, I will learn
that curiosity did indeed kill the cat.
